The Gold Standard of Anti-Aging?

103 34
If you have been to a major US mall recently, chances are you have been approached by an employee working at a kiosk selling gold skin care products.
If you aren't careful, you could be opening up your wallet to a big purchase.
The skin care products are made with real 24k gold from Italy, and they are coming from a company called Oro Gold Cosmetics.
But does gold work as a successful skin care ingredient? I'll look into that and try to see what sort of value there is in buying these products.
Gold is said to have been used as an anti-aging remedy since the days Cleopatra received her gold facial.
It is true, she actually received golden facials! I guess she was on the cutting edge of technology, way before her time.
Going back in time, gold was used for its luxurious and beautifying properties.
Used in ancient Chinese medicine, gold was a key to youth, as queens used a gold massage roller as a daily treatment to their face.
These gold facials were also used dating way back to ancient Indian culture and are said to firm the skin, make it glow, and even reduce wrinkles.
Furthermore, gold is often discussed for restoring the lost elasticity properties of the tissues.
Gold slows down collagen depletion and the essential breakdown of elastin.
This helps prevent sagging skin.
Gold even stimulates cellular growth of the basal layer to regenerate healthy, firm skin cells.
This can be said to give off a tightening effect.
(Which I assume is the role of the "lifting gel" I always hear about.
) So, it's safe to say gold is an important anti-aging ingredient and does work the skin in a way to treat it back to it's youthful ways.
If it's good enough for royalty, no matter how outdated the royalness may be, it must be good enough for the general populace.
Next time you are in a mall and are approached by one of the vendors, ask questions.
They will probably elaborate on why gold is a viable skin care option more than I could find in my research.
However, it is safe to say that with the presentation of the products combined with the affects the gold has on the skin, that gold will be around in anti-aging treatments for many years.
And for this reason, these new products are "good as gold.
