Holiday seasons have many traditions, including decorating the home in a style that exudes the holiday spirit. Homemakers focus on creating the perfect atmosphere by incorporating myriad decorations into an imaginative and cohesive theme. Avoid stress and incorporate easy decorating ideas for Christmas, Halloween and Easter. - Choose a theme that incorporates your Christmas tree decorations. Use the decorations left in the decoration box and place them around your house. For example, take extra ribbons and place them along the staircase and hang extra Christmas tree lights along the front door frame. You don't have to buy separate items to decorate your house; use what is already available to you.
Don't exaggerate the Christmas tree theme by placing miniature trees around your house. Focus on the small details of the tree, like the colors and figurines.
For added effect, place wrapped boxes around the house with attached cards and open them on Christmas Eve. - Turn your home into a haunted house for Halloween. Create the look of a dilapidated house that has been abandoned for years. Spread fake spider webs along the walls and over doors, complete with hanging spiders. Cut ragged holes into an old tablecloth and stain it with liquids or fake blood. Put the tablecloth back on the table with an old-fashioned candelabra. On Halloween night, place a "Do not enter" sign on your door and play eerie music while you hand out treats.
Incorporate the illusion of spirits and ghosts to add to the effect. Create shadows with strategic lighting or hang sheet-ghosts around the house. - Turn your house into a giant Easter basket. Buy bags of Easter basket grass packing, plastic eggs, candy and toys. Decorate the table by creating an Easter basket centerpiece. Place a pile of grass packing in the center of the table and put candy-filled Easter eggs in the middle of the pile. Place the toys on corner tables, along the walls and in other open areas.
Decorate Easter eggs with your family and place them around the house for an Easter egg hunt. Remember to leave the eggs out only for Easter Sunday during the hunt. - Decorate your house with valentine cards, candies and balloons. For example, place cards on corner tables with bags of candy. Place heart-shaped balloons in the yard to wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day.
As a special treat, set a basket of candy on your neighbors' porch.
