Thrush Treatment and Cure

103 7
  • Thrush BackgroundThrush is, in fact, a chronic condition.
Also known as candida, candidiasis, monilia and yeast infection, a rapid cure for thrush is necessary upon diagnosis because it is potentially quite dangerous.
Fertility in women can be affected and it can lead to several grave complications if experienced during pregnancy.
  • Thrush SymptomsThrush is a yeasty fungus which can infect the gut, stomach, urinary tract, vagina, skin and mouth.
It tends to form a root-like structure in the stomach and then infect the bloodstream, thereby transferring the infection to other parts of the body.
Symptoms include a discharge (without the fishy odor of BV), itching of the vagina and a stinging sensation when passing water.
  • DiagnosisBecause thrush is more virulent and serious than a condition like vaginitis, it is wise to have a medical examination if it is suspected.
This applies whether a traditional or modern cure is subsequently used, although, as with most alternative medicine, a natural cure has no side effects and is in no way dangerous.
An examination should also eliminate the possibility of it being a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
  • Modern CuresMore modern cures, developed in the 1960s, can be prolonged, expensive and deleterious to the patient's overall health.
The immune system is often affected, allowing other infections and ailments greater scope for attack.
  • Alternative Thrush TreatmentA natural, herbal thrush treatment, on the other hand, has only beneficial qualities for a sufferer's general health.
It is well worth spending $20 to $40 on a decent guide for the preparation and application of such treatments.
  • HerbsThe following herbs are normally included in an anti-fungal infusion or tincture to rid the body of candida: pau d'arco bark (laphacho/taheebo), goldenseal (hydrastis canadensis), oregon grape root (mahonia nervosa) and barberry (berberis vulgaris).
However, this list is by no means exhaustive.
Herbs used to combat inflammation include chamomile (matricaria recicuta) and licorice root (glycyrrhiza glabra).
  • Food and ExerciseExercise, especially aerobic, and diet are also important.
The intake of alcohol should be eliminated along with simple sugars.
Animal fats and simple carbohydrates should be kept to a minimum.
Vitamins and minerals to take include vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, lactobacillus acidophilus, magnesium, calcium, biotin and essential fatty acids.
