How to Finish a Tube Scarf

104 14
    • 1). Lay the scarf out on a flat surface. Fold it in half lengthwise with the wrong sides facing out so it will be long and skinny.

    • 2). Using large, common pins. Pin the edges of the scarf together along the length of the opening. Pin one end closed, but leave the other open.

    • 3). Thread the needle with the length of yarn you measured from the leftover yarn you used for the scarf. The length should be longer than the tube scarf. Pull the string of yarn through the eye for 2 to 3 inches and allow it to be free. Tie a knot into the long end of the yarn.

    • 4). Begin stitching the pinned edges together by inserting the needle into the corner edge of the scarf where it is folded. Do this twice in the same spot to ensure the thread yarn is secure. Sew close to the edge in an overhand-type stitch so the yarn will lay over the edge. This helps to secure the edges of the scarf.

    • 5). Continue to stitch until you reach the opposite open end of the tube. Don't sew the open end closed yet. Knot the yarn and trim it with scissors. Remove the pins.

    • 6). Turn the scarf right side out by working the sewn end through the inside length of the tube. Once the scarf is right side out, tuck the open ends inside and stitch them together using the remaining threaded yarn needle. Tie off the yarn and trim it with scissors.
