- 1). First, you should work on establishing a solid system for whatever team you are coaching. You need to get the players and coaches foremost to buy into your system. Always stress and emphasize your system.
- 2). Develop a close relationship with your players as if you are a father figure to them. You need to let them know that your genuinely care about them and want what's best for them regardless of if they play football for you or not. This is important as these are the same players who are going to compete and win you a championship.
- 3). Next, you want to assemble a solid coaching staff who all share the same beliefs and football philosophies as yourself. They should all be on the same page as you and even be able to coach the entire football team even if you were unable to coach.
- 4). Now you want to keep your roster in tact with good players in every position and go out to recruit more players. Recruit great players even in positions where you already have good players at. This creates competition and will make your team better.
- 5). Lastly, find a knack for winning the big games. You need to be competitive and passionate as a head coach. Train your team and develop each player to the best of his ability. Make it a point to have your players involved and bonded with each other on a year round basis. Develop chemistry, family, leadership, and responsibility on your team. These are all common traits of championship winning teams.
