Adventures in Craigslist
I've been using CL for three or four years now regularly.
You'd be shocked if you came to my house at the number of things in my world that have come to me via CL.
In the process of buying or acquiring all of this stuff I have learned that one of the coolest things about buying something through CL is the people you meet.
Yes it's true, I love meeting and talking to people that sell stuff through Craigslist.
One of the great things about buying something through CL is that the person you are buying from is or was at some point interested in the item you are purchasing.
For instance, just yesterday my wife found an advertisement in the free section of the site for an abundance of a plant that we have been considering using in our landscaping.
She had an area filled with the plant and was going to have to have the area dug up so that a repair could be made to her basement.
Rather than let the plants go to waste, she placed them on the site free of charge.
Yes getting the plants free of charge was great.
However, she was a really nice lady and we talked for quite a while even after the plants were dug up.
In fact, as it turns out she is a friend of an aunt of my wife's.
What a small world.
This isn't the first time I've run into this.
My wife makes fun of me because often times when I go to pick up an item from someone through the site, I wind up in an extended conversation with them.
It's difficult to resist.
The individual selling my item already knows everything about it most times.
In addition, we have something in common right off the bat and it's so easy to spark up a conversation.
Yes, Craigslist is an excellent place to find great deals on items you might be looking for.
Keep your eyes and ears opened though and you might just meet your next best friend in the process.
Just something to think about.
