Pregnancy and Weight Loss - Is it Healthy to Lose Weight While Pregnant?

103 43
Weight loss is not something that normally happens when a woman becomes pregnant.
Instead, a woman typically gains about thirty pounds during the time that she is pregnant, sometimes much more than this.
Every woman is different, and some women do not gain much weight at all during pregnancy.
Nevertheless, weight loss should be strived for after the pregnancy, not during the pregnancy.
During pregnancy, a woman should strive to gain weight because this is healthy for both her and her baby.
It is crucial for a woman to make sure that she eats enough nutrients for both herself and her child while she is pregnant.
Weight loss is definitely possible after the pregnancy.
In fact, the act of having the baby will cause a weight reduction of about fifteen to twenty pounds immediately.
But, during pregnancy, a woman should eat healthy foods, and lots of them, without worrying about her weight.
It must be stressed that healthy foods only should be eaten for the sake of the baby.
Resist the urge for fast food or sweets.
Eat as much as you can of fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
Weightlifting should not be done during pregnancy.
Walking, on the other hand is wonderful during pregnancy.
Walking on a regular basis will keep a woman fit for childbirth, and will make it much easier for her to recover from childbirth.
Walking should be done at a swift pace, but should begin at a slow pace, so as not to injure the pelvic area.
Walking can be more fun with a friend who is pregnant, or a neighbor who likes to walk.
