How to Join Two Pieces of Roof Trusses
- 1). Read the instructions that came with the trusses for the engineer's specifications for the size of lumber and location of the cross strapping.
- 2). Climb up into the trusses and have a friend pass up the appropriate sized lumber for the bracing.
- 3). Hold the lumber, across each truss, in the location designated by the truss instructions.
- 4). Nail two nails through the cross bracing and into the truss. Repeat this process until the lumber is fasted to each truss.
- 5). Install another section of cross bracing along the next section of trusses using the same method. Repeat this process until the cross bracing has been installed as required by the instructions.
- 6). Contact you local building authority to inspect your installation.
