Easy Ways to Get Rid of Back Acne
- Basis Cleansing Bar
Scrubbing the skin can not only exacerbate the acne, but it can actually inflame the skin, causing more acne eruptions. Acne-prone skin must be treated very gently. Use a gentle soap, such as Basis Cleansing Bar, and wash the back. If you have trouble reaching the back, attach a soft wash cloth to a back scratcher, or use a bask washer (basically a sponge on a stick) that can be purchased at most drugstores. - Benzoyl Peroxide Cream
Benzoyl peroxide can be used to treat acne on the back, just as it would for acne on the face. If you're uncomfortable having someone else do it for you, you can apply the benzoyl peroxide to hard to reach areas by attaching a cotton pad to the back scratcher, and applying the benzoyl peroxide cream to the pad. Apply 2-3 quarter-sized amounts to the affected areas up to two times per day. - Oil of Olay Oil-Free Lotion
Moisturizing the skin can prevent any unwanted side effects from using benzoyl peroxide, such as dryness, redness or peeling. Purchase an oil-free moisturizer that will not clog pores, such as Oil of Olay Oil-Free Moisturizer. You can apply the moisturizer in the same way that you applied the benzoyl peroxide cream, but be sure to use a new cotton pad. Apply around 2 quarter-sized amounts.
