Startup Errors and the Windows Registry

103 11
The Windows registry is responsible for all system program operations - from a basic notepad file being opened to your favorite game functioning properly.
For that reason it's fairly obvious that any error related to the system registry can cause severe issues for your machine and in many cases may actually prevent a computer from booting up at all.
If you boot up your computer and encounter any error along the lines of Windows stating that it has recently recovered from a previously saved setting, it can not locate a particular program, an error resides within a command line or it regularly loads to an alternative boot screen to select different boot options chances are that your registry has suffered some damage and needs to be repaired.
The most common cause of these errors are malicious programs infecting your computer from some websites or junk mail or the improper uninstallation of programs that once existed on your computer.
While a simple fix if it is caused by a program you intentionally removed is to reinstall the program and run a proper uninstall (either from the program's own uninstall feature or with Windows' "Add/Remove Programs" function in the Control Panel) more often than not it is caused by some sort of malicious program attacking your registry and causing the errors to occur.
To remedy this the best solution is to search for a high quality registry cleaning program that can sift through all of the registry entries present on your computer and remove any ones that may be broken or could be the result of these malicious program operations.
This could potentially also increase your computer's functionality in general and is highly recommended to do regardless.
Be sure when searching for a program, however, to only use one of the best registry software available on the market as a low-quality one may actually do more harm than good by accidentally deleting important registry information and causing even more issues to arise.
