Video: Hairstyles Without Straighteners
Video Transcript
Hi, I¡¯m T. Cooper. I¡¯m a New York City makeup artist, hairstylist, and I¡¯m also co-founder of beauty and grooming company, Metro Look. Today, we¡¯re going to talk about hairstyles without straighteners. This is a cool topic, because this allows you to work with whatever your hair texture is. This style looks good if you have curly hair. This style looks good if you have straight hair. So, you can just work with whatever texture your hair is. I¡¯ve already started it on my model. You¡¯re going to see this side has already been done ¨C it¡¯s two rows of buns, and it looks super cool if you¡¯ve got texture in your hair, it looks super cool if you have straight hair. So, how this was done was I had separated her hair into two rows. The bottom row is just going to get two buns, and the top row get three buns. So, we¡¯ve already got three going on. I¡¯m going to do the last bun in the bottom row. So, for this you just need some bobby pins actually. Hairspray¡¯s optional. I don¡¯t feel the need to spray it, but if you do, you go for it, because I¡¯m a hairspray fiend, but I just don¡¯t feel it¡¯s necessary. But, if you want to spray this style, you absolutely can. So, you see I created a bun on the bottom part. This gives it dimension, cause it¡¯s like up, down, up, down. This one is down here. And then, you just pin it at any little hairs that are poking out. You can just tuck them back in and pin it. But, if any hairs are sticking out of the bun at all, if you want to be really super polished, you can use some gel or some styling wax or some spray to tame them. But, I actually really like the way that stuff looks, so I¡¯m going to leave it, because I think it adds texture to the style. And, this is the final bun right here, so you¡¯re just going to twist going away from the face. The ones on the top are very important that you twist them going away from the face. And, the one in the middle you can twist any way you want. But, twist it all the way down, and then you create a bun. And, wrap any loose hair around it, and you just fill in that gap that was right there. And then, you pin it on into place. Again, if you want to go in and style it after, that¡¯s fine. But, they¡¯re buns for goodness sakes, people! What are you spraying a bun for? But, hey, if that¡¯s what you want to do, go for it. Beautiful style, sick. I left the front of her fringe out, but if you wanted to even bring them back and pin it into place, that¡¯s a good option. You could curl them ¨C that¡¯s a good option. Or, you can just slick it back and leave it like that. But, I kind of like a little bit of wispiness around the face. And, this is what the back looks like. Isn¡¯t that pretty? No straightener, no heat tools, no nothing. That is just straight up and down taking your hair, working with the texture, creating some buns back there. It¡¯s a gorgeous style for pretty much any occasion. This can be casual, or it can be dressed up with accessories. I¡¯m T. Cooper, and thank you so much for watching.
