Shopping without credit cards sounds somewhat unimaginable today. The concepts and procedures around monetary transaction are changing and with advanced systems and equipment, life is getting simpler every moment. Today, every small and big store accepts payment by cards and you might know how smoothly the payment is carried out. The advantages of using a credit are beyond mere convenience of usage. With a credit card on you, you can never fall short of money.

There are reasons why the use of credit cards is so popular today. First of all, using a credit card is simple. There is no complicated procedure involved and all you need to have is a valid and active bank account- post which you need to have applied for a credit card status. Once you have a card on you, you can use your balance plus the credit you are eligible for, practically anywhere. Most stores and supermarkets, shopping centres across the world accept all sorts of credit cards such as master cards and visa cards. Therefore, you can shop at all such places without having to withdraw cash actually.

Many manufactures across the world make Credit card machines for business. Either banks provide them to the store owners or it is the store owner who has to purchase these portable machines. Free credit card machines are also available in some places. So how does a credit card work? A credit card is swiped across a Credit card terminal. This card terminal is a small portable device which has a slot in which the store manager/cashier will swipe your card against the amount for the shopping you have done. The amount will be punched into the machine and transaction will be recorded at the stores bank. A receipt will be given to you. All this will happen in matter of minutes and you can spend depending upon your credit card value.

At the end of the month your bank sends you the credit card statement wherein you have to pay the amount you have used on your credit card to your bank.
