If you have an iPhone you can use a really cool program called Shazam which helps you to find out who sings a certain song. All you have to do is start the program and hold your iPhone up to the speaker and it will "listen" to the lyrics and tell you who sings it. This is serious, no kidding and it can be downloaded from the iTunes app store. The best part is if you only remember some of the lyrics you can sing them into the phone and it will recognize that as well. - 3
Currently in the information age you really only need to know a few words to get the low down on who sings a certain song. Another awesome way to figure this out is to type the part of the lyrics into a search engine online. Chances are that if you have even a portion of the correct lyrics it will return some search results with the song and artist name. - 4
One last thing that you can try if you heard it on the radio is to either call the radio station or check their actual website. By doing either of these things you should be able to get information about their playlist and start listening to different songs that seem like they would be similar until your hit the right one.
