How to Add Crown Molding to Kitchen Cabinets
- 1). Measure the tops of the cabinets where the molding will go. Write down the measurements on your pad. It is very important that these measurements be precise, because this will form the base for the molding.
- 2). Take the strips of wood and have them cut them into strips that will fit the tops of the cabinets. This is the base that will hold the molding to the cabinets. Start on one side of the cabinets and begin nailing the strips of wood to the top of the cabinets. Make sure the strips are well secured.
- 3). Stain the molding if it has not been stained. Allow to dry overnight.
- 4). Place the molding in the same direction you hung the base. Use wood glue to attach the molding to the base. Use finishing nails every 6 inches to nail molding to base. Nail from the back of the molding.
