How to Make a Spaceship Out of Foil
- 1). Determine if you would like to make a rocket-shaped spaceship or a spacecraft. For a rocket, you'll need a recycled cardboard paper towel tube. For a hovercraft or UFO, you'll need a large cardboard box.
- 2). Wrap your cardboard tube or cardboard box in foil. Draw squiggly lines on the foil with markers to symbolize movement through space of the spaceship.
- 3). Cut a triangle out of foil and curve the edges together to form a cone. Glue the edges together. Skip this step if you are using a cardboard box.
- 4). Glue the foil cone to the top open end of the cardboard tube. Skip this step if you are using a cardboard box.
- 5). Cut two slits on opposite ends of the bottom of the tube or box. Cut two triangles out of foil. Insert the triangles into the slits and glue to the cardboard. The triangles will act as fins on the spaceships.
