A Must-Read Review of the Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Sewing Machine

One day, I decided I was finally going to dump my archaic 30-year old sewing machine for a newer one.
I'd had enough of its constant malfunctions.
I didn't want to spend too much money, so I scoured the market for cheap sewing machines of high quality and just as my search was turning up fruitless, I found the Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine.
For those looking for the most bang for your buck, this sewing machine represents the perfect option.
This sewing machine has all the basic features you need for a hassle-free sewing experience, including a computerized free-arm system, 60 stitch functions and foolproof foot-pedal operation.
Although I am fairly experienced, my decidedly less proficient daughter informs me that in her opinion, this is the best and most user-friendly sewing machine for beginners.
The Good Considering my previous model was a relic of the early 1980s, the feature I appreciated most in the Brother CS6000I was the high-tech computerized system.
There was a high degree of automation for multiple functions including threading, tension control and drop-in bobbin adjustment.
I was shocked at the efficiency of the machine.
Despite the snowstorm that hit my area this winter, I was able to stay bundled up and toasty without spending a single cent, thanks to the dozens of sweaters and scarves I managed to churn out before the first snowfall.
Trust me - even novice seamstresses will be sewing high quality apparel in record time.
Given that I was transitioning from a traditional to a computerized machine, you might expect a rather steep learning curve.
However, I was able to start sewing almost right from the get-go.
Further enhancing its reputation as a user-friendly, beginner-friendly sewing machine, the Brother CS6000I came with an impressively thorough instruction manual and an optional DVD.
The instructions are clear and their trouble shooting process covers just about any problem you could possibly have with the machine.
Every time I was experiencing a malfunction or didn't know how to use a future, out came the manual and all my problems were solved.
Finally, any avid seamstress will appreciate the variety this machine offers.
Not only does it include a quilting table (which usually costs a fair bit of money), it also includes a wide array of sewing accessories such as twin needles, a seam ripper, extra spool pins and additional snap-on presser feet.
Together with 60 sewing options, I never ever got bored with this machine.
Although most laymen assume sewing is a deadly dull and mundane activity, this device might well convince them to change their minds.
The Bad As many other Brother CS6000I reviews have pointed out, despite being a low-end machine this machine frequently jams when using low-quality thread.
Hence, cheap threads just won't cut it as it tends to bunch up around the corners and sides of the workpiece.
Value for Money It has to be said that this sewing machine provide the highest quality sewing at the most value for money price, complete with a limited 25-year manufacturer's warranty.
