By the time they are 8, little girls are able to play a variety of games and they relish in doing activities with other girls. When you plan a party or sleepover for girls this age, have a game that is competitive but keep it light-hearted, like a scavenger hunt. Girls want to be silly and girly at this age, so mix up the activities with games that let them be silly. - Have the girls sit in a circle. Place 10 nail polish bottles of varying colors in the middle of the circle. Decide which girl will begin the game. She will spin any bottle of nail polish. The girl whom the bottle points to must paint one of her finger or toe nails with that polish. Then it is her turn to spin the next bottle. The game continues until the girls have painted all their nails.
- Give each girl a consecutive number starting with one. Blindfold the first girl and give her a variety of make up. Allow her to try to make over girl No. 2 while blindfolded. Let the other girls watch. When she is finished with the makeover, remove the blindfold. Blindfold girl No. 2 and have her make over girl No. 3. Continue this until all the girls have had a blind makeover. The last girl in line makes over the first girl. Have a camera on hand to take pictures.
- Have all the girls gather and decide which will begin the game. She will begin by asking any one of the other girls "truth or dare." If the second girl says "truth," the first girl will ask her a question and she must answer. If she says "dare," she must complete a task that the first girl dares her to do. She must also complete the dare if she is unable to answer the question.
- Place the girls in two or more groups. Give each group a list of things to find and an allotted amount of time to find them. At the end of the allotted time, count the amount of items each group found. The team with the most items wins a prize.
