Symptoms Of Worms In Dogs

103 72
It's very important to be able to identify the tell-tale symptoms of worms in dogs as early as possible.
There are 5 kinds of worms that can affect dogs: Roundworms, Hookworms, Tapeworms, Whipworms and the deadly Heartworms.
This is one of the major reasons that you should get your dog checked regularly by a vet and have them dewormed on a schedule.
Below you will find some common symptoms of worms in dogs to watch out for: • Diarrhea • Vomiting • Loss of appetite • Dull looking coat (doesn't have a normal shiny appearance) • Lethargic, low-energy level • Bloated stomach • No appetite • Drastic weight loss In most cases a Heartworm medication can take care of all worms that your dog may get, but as the worms progress other medications will need to be administered.
Prevention will be your dog's best defense, particularly when it comes to Heartworms since the symptoms won't show up in most cases until damage has been done to their heart.
Even if you think you've seen symptoms of worms in dogs, or if the owner of a dog that has come in contact with yours has worms: Get your animal checked right away with no hesitation.
Roundworm and Hookworm are transferable to humans, which means you or your family can become infected as well.
Many symptoms of worms in dogs can also be signs of less serious problems, or in some cases more severe issues, meaning they should never be ignored.
Remember that your dog can't tell you if something is wrong and often just as with humans: Sometimes you don't feel like anything is really wrong.
You might feel they're a little sluggish, or not feel like eating and figure it's nothing, to find out later they have a serious Heartworm infection.
