How do I Fuse Together Corian Countertops?
- 1). Clean the edges of the Corian countertop with denatured alcohol to remove wax, grease, dirt and dust.
- 2). Load a caulking gun with tinted epoxy and squeeze out a thick long bead along the entire edge.
- 3). Push the two ends tightly up against each other.
- 4). Clamp the two pieces together or wedge pieces of lumber along the exposed countertop edge and a nearby wall to hold the joining edges together tightly.
- 5). Allow the epoxy to dry completely, usually 4 to 6-hours.
- 6). Sand the seam with a fine-grit sandpaper loaded into a belt sander or orbital sander. Do not apply pressure, allow the sander to do the work or you will cause depressions in the countertop.
- 7). Sand the entire countertop with an extra-fine 220-grit sandpaper loaded into an orbital sander.
- 8). Buff the countertop with an orbital sander equipped with a polishing bonnet to achieve a glossy surface.
