The movie The Secret has been greatly criticized, and for something I consider a phenomenon in the personal development field, I think this is being harsh.
This article will be focused on the principles laid down in the movie The Secret, which is also in a book format, and why I think it is complete.
I would like to say that as a personal development and self help writer with no affiliations to Rhonda Byrne, i think the secret is one of the biggest achievements by any individual in the self-help industry in the last 100 years.
From what it tried to achieve, the movie the secret has no ingredient missing.
There are two categories of people that have endlessly criticized this movie- and they are the general public, and other authors in the field of self development.
Most part of the general public that criticize the movie do not understand the concept being put forward.
And human beings always tend to criticize anything they don't understand.
The authors on the other hand that criticize this are mostly does who write closely related materials to what the secret teaches, and it appears they discredit it to give their own work more credit.
But most of them criticize out of envy of how the movie turned out to be a big success.
In other for Rhonda Byrne to make this movie, she brought together a lot of experts in the field of self improvement, more specifically, The Law Of Attraction.
Most of them like Bob Proctor, Esther Hicks and Jack Canfield have been holding seminars and writing books related to the principles she wanted to put forward to the world for years, so what better way to do it than to bring the experts together to educate people on the principles.
I think it was a perfect blend.
But, some authors that didn't make the list allowed their emotions get to them, and started discrediting the movie.
The major criticism of the movie is that it didn't go deep enough into how the law of attraction works.
But, the fact is that for the general public to accept and absorb it, it couldn't have been packaged any better.
It is funny that the authors that criticize the movie do not understand the simple concept that Rhonda Byrne actually used the principles of the law of attraction to put that movie and the book together.
And when you use the principles, it directs and show you what and what not to do.
I know this because i also have a book published on this topic, and it is nothing short of a miracle on how it was possible for me to publish.
For you to have a better understanding of what i am saying, i would like to breakdown how the law of attraction actually works.
You give your attention to what you want by focusing on it, and or visualizing and affirming it in your life.
And then you step aside and wait for the Universe to show you a way on how you are going to achieve that goal.
Sometimes, you might not need to do any work, it just appears in your life.
But, sometimes, you are inspired to action.
And the action, most times is always something you are capable of doing.
This is clearly specified in the movie when Jack Canfield talked about his story with applying the law and how he was inspired to give seminars which then lead to him being noticed and interviewed in a magazine that helped sky-rocket the sales of his book.
With the above example, it is clear that the critics have wrongly judged the movie.
And turning to the general public, the problem they have with the secret movie is that the principles it puts forward appear to be too simple.
People have been taught to believe that everything has to be complex.
I think this is a big problem in the world right now.
Because, the truth is that it really is that simple.
