    • 1). Turn the faucet upside-down. Roll out a bead of plumber's putty and press it on the underside of the faucet. Insert the faucet into the socket on the sink. Press it into place so the putty is distributed evenly.

    • 2). Position yourself underneath the sink. Thread the retention screw onto the bottom of the faucet. Tighten this with pliers.

    • 3). Wrap the threads on the inlet beneath the faucet with plumber's tape. Attach the plastic coupling on the end of the water supply hose to the faucet. Tighten with the pliers.

    • 4). Wrap the threads on the water supply valve with the plumber's tape. Attach the metal coupling end of the water supply hose. Tighten with the wrench.

    • 5). Turn the sink flange over. Roll out a bead of plumber's putty and press it into the underside of the flange. Turn the flange so it is right-side up again and press it into the bottom of the sink, turning as you do to distribute the putty.

    • 6). Hold the flange in place in the bottom of the sink with an assistant's help while you position yourself back underneath the sink. Screw the straight tailpiece pipe into the bottom of the flange.

    • 7). Slide the rubber washer and jamb nut over the end of the tailpiece until they are flush with the bottom of the sink. Tighten in place.

    • 8). Wrap the threads on the bottom of the tailpiece and the sewer inlet pipe (the pipe leading into the wall) with plumber's tape. Slip the P-trap into place between the tailpiece and the sewer inlet pipe. Tighten the couplings.
