How to Configure a Slingbox SB220
- 1). Download the latest version of the SlingPlayer software using your computer's Internet browser (see Resources). Double-click on the software's installation file, which should be located on your desktop by default, to begin the installation process.
- 2). Scroll through the list of various countries underneath the "Where is your Slingbox located?" header. Click on the country in which you will primarily be using your Slingbox SB220. For our purposes, we will select "USA." Press the "Next" button at the lower right portion of the screen.
- 3). Examine the rear of both your Slingbox SB220 and your set-top box to determine what type of video cables are used to connect them together. Click the "Composite" option if your Slingbox and set-top box are connected via composite cables, which are colored red, white and yellow. Click the "Component" option if the two devices are connected by component cables, which are colored red, green and blue. Click on the "Next" tab.
- 4). Click on the "Power" button on the "Control Code Setup" page to ensure that you can control your set-top box remotely. Press "Finish" once you have successfully powered off your set-top box. The SlingPlayer configuration process is now complete and you are ready to watch your favorite TV shows remotely.
