How to Use Crushed Brick for Driveways
- 1). Push stakes into the ground along the sides of the driveway and run twine from one stake to the next. Place the stakes 6 to 12 inches out from the sides of the driveway. This will act as your guide.
- 2). Load crushed brick in a wheelbarrow and bring it to one end of the driveway. Dump crushed brick in piles along the sides of the driveway, between the twine and driveway.
- 3). Rake the bricks out smooth within the 6- to 12-inch-space all the way down the edge of the drive on both sides.
- 4). Dig a trench following the line of the string.
- 5). Insert a landscape border in the trench so that about 2 inches is sticking above ground. Press the dirt you removed back up against the border to secure it.
- 6). Tap the border stakes into the edging at a slight angle and down into the dirt to keep the edging from shifting.
