How to Connect a Hard Drive to Your Comcast Cable Box
- 1). Attach the output of your Comcast cable box to the digital video recorder's input. You should have numerous audio/video cable options, including the standard RG coaxial and RCA composite, RCA component or possibly HDMI.
- 2). Connect the DVR's output to your TV set with another set of audio/video cables. Using the same type of cable connection will help give you a stable picture and audio on your TV set.
- 3). Check to make sure the main feed to your cable box is connected. The coaxial cable coming out of the wall should be connected to the input port on the cable box.
- 4). Turn on the TV set and make sure the picture and sound come out. The TV set's input channel must be set for the cable connection you used to connect the DVR to the TV.
- 5). Press the main menu button on either the DVR's manual interface or, more likely, the remote control. This access the hard drive within the DVR and gives you the options of recording and playing back the recordings.
