Dehumidifer Instructions
- 1). Locate the area of the home that has the highest level of humidity. This will most likely be the laundry room or basement. Position the dehumidifier out of the way, but where it will not come into contact with a wall. Because dehumidifiers vibrate, this could lead to excessive noise.
- 2). Plug the dehumidifier into the wall outlet and turn on its power switch. Dehumidifier units have a light near the on/off switch. This light indicates when the water reservoir has been filled. The dehumidifier functions by condensing moist air onto a set of coils. The result is a water drip similar to what you see beneath your car when you run your vehicle air conditioner on a hot summer day.
- 3). Turn off the power switch when the water reservoir has been filled. Use the water to hydrate garden or houseplants or even wash your car. The water cannot be used for drinking water, however, due to the possible presence of mildew on the coils of the dehumidifier.
- 4). Place the water reservoir back into the dehumidifier after it has been emptied and then turn the power switch back on to repeat the process.
