How to Repair a Kwikset Lock

Instructions
1Remove the screws that hold the knobs on the door with the screwdriver.

Remove the screws in the latch located on the edge of the door.

Inspect the inside of the lock knobs and latch for damaged working parts.

Spray the lubricant on the inside of both knobs and turn them to ensure they move freely.

Spray the lubricant on the latch and depress the latch bolt several times to distribute the lubricant inside the moving parts of the latch.

Wipe the excess lubricant off of the latch and knobs with a rag.

Reinstall the latch and screws in the door edge.

Reinstall the knobs by inserting the stem of the keyed side into the latch slot while aligning the threaded sleeves in the holes in the latch.

Install the knob screws and check the lock for smooth operation.
