Summer is nearly here and the kids will be home a lot more. One summer pitfall is hearing "I'm bored!" Why not avoid this through applying and learning scientific principles? Science kits can amuse while educating the bored child.

This electronics kit is a comprehensive introduction to electronics. The breadboard layout and spring connectors make connecting wires simple without soldering. My college electronic lab kit wasn't this well equipped. It comes with a three courses each with an illustrated laboratory manual with literally hundreds of projects. Robots are cool, but robotics can involve high end electronic theory and mechanical engineering. That's where robot kits come in. OWI makes many different robot kits, but the Jr. Science Series of robots are easy models to construct and run on solar power. I personally like the crab but my daughter likes the grasshopper.More »
