    Mozzarella Sticks

    • Pick up a pre-made bag at your local supermarket or make some yourself. A popular item at dinner parties, this simple appetizer can be made from pull-and-peel mozzarella sticks, egg batter and breadcrumbs. Dip each cheese stick into the egg batter then roll them into the breadcrumbs. Then fry each one until it's crispy brown.

    Shrimp Skewers

    • Shrimp skewers can be be made on the grill or on the stove. You can boil the shrimp by placing about a pound of shrimp into 1 quart of boiling water and cooking them for about three to eight minutes depending on the size of the shrimp. Once they have become plump and opaque in appearance, remove them from the stove and season each one before placing them on a skewer. If you choose to grill them, season the shrimp to your liking and then place them on skewer sticks before placing them on the grill. Once the prawns turn pink, flip the skewers to evenly cook both sides of the shrimp. Total grill time should take about five minutes. However you prepare your shrimp, be sure to serve them with dipping sauces like cocktail sauce or ketchup.

    Fish Tacos

    • Fish tacos can be a fun, healthy alternative to meat. In particular, tilapia can be prepared quickly and make for a delicious meat substitute. Once you've seasoned each fillet to your liking using salt, pepper or lime juice, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a nonstick frying pan. Cook each fillet for about two minutes on each side using high heat. When the tilapia becomes firm, remove the fish from the stove and cut each fillet into small enough strips to fit into each taco. Then stuff each hard or soft taco with toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro, salsa, pico de gallo, cheese or lime.

    Fried Veggies

    • Asparagus, zucchini and green peas are healthy vegetables that can be made into a party appetizer in little time. Simply dip them into egg batter, roll them in breadcrumbs and fry until golden brown. Salad dressings can be used for dipping.

    Veggie Pita Pizza

    • Pita pizzas are quick and simple but also healthy when topped with vegetables. For starters, spread tomato sauce and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on pita bread. If you want, top with fresh veggies such as tomatoes, peppers or mushrooms. Heat them in a oven until the cheese is melted.

    Homemade Guacamole

    • Besides being a great source of vitamins and nutrients, guacamole is easy to fix and very popular as an appetizer. Mix the the main ingredients: one mashed avocado, cilantro, lime juice and jalapeno chile. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy.

    Cheese Quesadillas

    • Flour tortillas and cheese are the only items you need for this dish. Lay the tortilla flat and place the cheese -- such as American, cheddar and Monterey Jack -- of your choice on top. Fold the tortilla in half with the cheese on the inside and heat in a microwave, toaster oven or skillet.
