How to Host St. Patrick's Day
- 1). Decorate with lots of green. Shamrocks are the traditional green shape associated with the holiday, but buying green table cloths, napkins and paper plates at any party store is a cheap and easy way to get into the St. Patty's Day spirit. Encourage guests to wear green too.
- 2). Serve corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie or Irish soda bread. All of these Irish staples make up a traditional St. Patrick's Day meal, and leftovers such as corned beef hash can be enjoyed for days after.
- 3). Watch a St. Patrick's Day parade, or see if one is local enough to attend. New York, Chicago and Boston are three major cities with St. Patrick's Day parades that take over city streets with various forms of entertainment.
- 4). Watch a few St. Patrick's Day movies and specials, such as "Darby O'Gill and the Little People," "A Very Unlucky Leprechaun," "Luck of the Irish," "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers: The Last Leprechaun," and "The Magical Legend Of The Leprechauns."
- 5). Drink green beer. Served in bars all over on and around March 17, this is a favorite among those who wish to partake in consuming spirits to celebrate this holiday.
