First Step To Become a Music Producer
Almost every music producer nowadays does not use analog audio equipments anymore.
We are changing from heavy, and expensive analog audio equipments into light weight (less than 4 kilograms!) audio workstation with much more cheaper price.
This new audio workstation system is called Digital Audio Workstation (DAWs).
There are many DAWs out there like:
But most of these DAWs offers trial and demo so that you can try them out before actually buying the software.
Among all the DAWs listed above, I choose to use Cubase and Fruity Loops Studio.
Fruity Loops Studio (FL Studio) was my first DAWs.
It is easy to use and filled up with many presets and build in samples and virtual music instrument ready for you to use.
Basically, you can straight away producing your own beats, tracks and songs after you install Fruity Loops Studio.
But then I discover Cubase and this is the software that is used in most professionals and recording studios nowadays.
I can say that Cubase is the best in the industry.
Well, it's still depends on your preference but Cubase is one of the DAWs that I would like to recommend to you.
Cubase is more complicated than FL Studio and it is definitely not very suitable for the beginner or someone who does not have basic in music and recording.
Cubase build in with much more features and functions than FL Studio but lack of presets and build in samples.
But most of DJs prefer using Fruity Loops Studio to make their beats and tracks while almost all music producer who decide to leave the analog audio workstation will use Cubase or Logic.
Logic is a MAC based software and there's no Windows version for it which is why I do not prefer to use it.
I am a Windows lover, so if you also running on Windows which is cheaper and resources-wise, you would be glad to use either Cubase or FL Studio.
