How do I Replace a Sony Xl-2400 Projection TV Lamp?
- 1). Turn your TV set off, wait a few minutes and then unplug it. Once you have done this, wait at least 30 minutes before proceeding to allow it to cool down.
- 2). Gently remove the new XL-2400 lamp from its shipping box. Be careful to avoid jiggling or shaking it, and avoid contact with the glass piece in its front. The oils on your finger can destroy the lamp's lens.
- 3). Remove the TV's outside lamp cover by pulling it down and away. Inside you will find a door with a knob. Turn the knob counterclockwise, and pull the cover out. Set the door aside.
- 4). Put your finger through the loop handle on the lamp assembly and pull it straight out. The lamp may still be hot, so be careful. Avoid touching either the glass on the old lamp or inside the lamp socket.
- 5). Put the new bulb into the socket from which you just removed the old bulb. Ensure that it fits securely, but do not attempt to push it in too far. If you have not properly installed it, the television's power light will flash three times when you try to turn it on.
- 6). Put the lamp door back on, and turn the knob clockwise to close it. Push the lamp cover back into its place.
- 7). Plug in the TV and turn it on. You may need to reset your TV's lamp timer, as well. To do this, select "Settings" from the main menu, then go to the "Setup" menu. You should see a Lamp Replacement option there.
