Morning sickness usually begins around the 4th week of pregnancy and typically begins to subside around week 14.
It is estimated that morning sickness affects up to 80% of all pregnant women.
Some women experience mild morning sickness, while for others it can be very extreme to the point where it can require additional medical care.
Most women experience it more intently in the morning hours but it can last all throughout the day.
For those women with severe morning sickness, it is very difficult to carry out normal daily routines.
But there are things that you can do to help alleviate it.

Get Out Of Bed Slowly - Set your alarm clock 5 to 10 minutes earlier than you normally would and upon waking in the morning take your time getting out of bed instead of jumping up as soon as the alarm goes off.
Also, you may want to keep crackers by the bed and eat 2 or 3 before getting up.
This has been known to help combat the feeling of nausea that you experience first thing in the morning.
For some reason nausea seems to intensify on an empty stomach.
Eating Habits - If at all possible try to avoid greasy and fatty foods.
Also, avoid foods that have a strong odor as this may contribute to your feelings of nausea.
Try not to allow your stomach to become completely empty.

What you can do, is eat something every couple of hours to keep yourself from getting to hungry or too full at any given time.
Keep Your Body Hydrated - Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated.
If water is one of the things that makes you feel nauseous, try making it ice cold and adding a little lemon to it.
If this still does not work for you make yourself a healthy ice based smoothie or grab some ice chips and eat on them all throughout the day.
Carbonated caffeine free drinks such as sprite, 7 up and ginger ale will help soothe your stomach and ease the nausea.
Fresh Air And Exercise - Fresh air will do a world of good in helping you feel better.
I know during this time the last thing you may want to do is get up, go outside and exercise but it help improve the way you feel drastically.
Even 5 minutes outdoors in the fresh air is helpful.
Ginger - Ginger has been recommended by doctors and midwives to their patients for years to help with morning sickness.
While it is not officially approved by the FDA as a treatment for morning sickness, they do acknowledge it as a useful home method.
You can consume ginger tea, capsules or in powdered form to help with nausea.
Just be sure to use it in minimal amounts.
There are many remedies available on the market to help treat nausea.
