Nigeria located in the West African region of Africa, is a beautiful country to behold.
Bound on the north by Niger republic, east by Benin republic, west by Cameroun and the south by the Atlantic Ocean.
The administration of Umar Yar'adua's which started in May 2007, has made Tourism one of its major concern.
Over the years, the tourism sector had been neglected.
But with the current developments in the country, it is turning to become Africa's tourism haven.
Just recently in Cross Rivers State- Calabar, a magnificent resort (Tinapa) was commissioned.
This resort has first class facilities: swimming pool, shops, hotels, parks, etc.
Already Cross Rivers has many other resorts.
Lagos State-south west of Nigeria- is gearing up to the beat.
The governor has within the past one and half years been beautifying the city.
Lagos formerly used to be a dirty and chaotic city, but now it's wearing a good look.
Highways are being built, bridges are constructed, illegal buildings are being demolished, etc.
Places of tourist interest in Lagos are plethora: Shoprite shopping mall, Elekan beach, Badagry beach, Bar beach, Tarkwa bay, etc.
The south eastern states are also bracing up with the new challenges: states like Imo state with attractions like Oguta Lake, Mbari cultural center, Zoo, etc.
The government ofImo state has upgraded the infrastructure in the state and also the airport to cope with the influx of people.
The Northern part of the country is upgrading their infrastructures.
The North has mostly games reserves and parks.
States like Niger, Bauchi, Borno, Kano, and Jigawa have beautiful tourist centers.
The North is so rich with land mass and that gives them an opportunity to really showcase their tourist potentials.
Presently in the country the revenue from tourism has quadrupled.
And it is estimated that in the year 2015 it will be accounting for about thirty percent of the country's revenue.
