103 10
Owning a Bichon is not just about the fun and joy it brings to your family.
It also brings along with it a few responsibilities, one of which is grooming.
Since your Bichon is not the usual kind of dog, it's quite obvious that its grooming too has to be different.
Let's start with the list of things that you'd need for Bichon grooming.
You would need the following: • Nail-Clippers • Kwik-Stop • Ear Powder • Hemostats • Comb • Slicker Brush • Shampoo • Clipper • Blades • Snap-on combs • Thinning Shear • Dryer • Grooming table With the supplies out of the way let's start with the Bichon grooming.
The first step is nail-clipping.
Be careful not to clip their nails too short as that seriously dent their trust.
Always do it before the bath and in case you do cut their nails too short, Kwik-Stop can come in handy to stop the bleeding.
Cleaning the ears is also important as it can lead to a serious infection for many dogs.
Just put in a small amount of ear powder in the Bichon's ear.
This will help you to grab the hair more easily so that you can pluck them, a few at a time.
Always remember that you need to brush the Bichon's hair before you take it for a bath.
This way all the mats can be eliminated before the bath itself which will make it very difficult for you to sort them out later.
Make sure that you don't apply too much pressure while brushing the coat as it can be painful for the Bichon.
Whenever bathing your Bichon make sure that you use a good quality shampoo to keep the coat of your Bichon healthy.
Also, make sure that no water goes into its ears or nose which can cause a lot of inconvenience for the Bichon.
Using warm water with mild pressure is always a good idea.
