How to Replace a 1997 Tercel Window Washer Motor
- 1). Open the hood of the Tercel. Locate the washer fluid tank on the passenger side of the engine, just in front of the wheel well. The tank is clear and holds blue washer fluid. Place a collection pan below the tank, underneath the vehicle.
- 2). Remove the three bolts attaching the tank to the vehicle with a socket wrench. If the bolts are too difficult to reach with the wrench, use a socket wrench extension tool to reach it more easily.
- 3). Remove the washer hose by detaching the clamp with the clamp removal tool. Wait for the fluid to drain into the collection pan.
- 4). Lift out the tank and find the washer motor attached to the bottom. Unhook the power cable by lifting up the tab and pulling it away. Pull out the washer motor and the rubber grommet.
- 5). Place a new rubber grommet into the hole in the tank. Spray it with lubricant. Push the new washer motor into the tank until it snaps in place. Reconnect the power cable and the washer hose.
- 6). Place the tank back into the engine cavity. Fasten it in place with the bolts. Open the cap and pour in washer fluid until it reaches the maximum line. Close the engine hood.
