Kids Activities at Home Depot
- Every Home Depot store has an area set up for the workshop. Some may have workshops in a particular room or hallway or even outside under a canopy. The site features tales set up with tools for the projects, including a hammer, glue and sandpaper.
- Upon arriving at the work shop, each child is given a wood project kit to contruct with the help of her parent or caregiver. Each kit comes with simple step-by-step instructions. Home Depot associates are available to walk children through the project and give assistance as needed.
- Once the project is completed, your child has something he built to take home. Each child also receives a kid-sized apron, similar to the orange aprons worn by Home Depot associates, and an achievement pin.
- Home Depot's workshop project changes each month. Some of the projects offered in the past include a race car, bird house, fire truck, tool box, step stool, planter and jewelry box. Certain projects are also available to buy at your local Home Depot store in larger quantities. These purchases are useful for events such as a child's birthday party or family reunion.
