In different musical genres, there are also different singing lessons available for the students. Different classes are shaped for genres like classical, jazz, pop, gospel, and more. Each genre requires different singing techniques and styles from the singer, and vocal teachers typically have their own specialization as well.

Young people today are very much interested in singing pop or contemporary music because this is arguably the most common type of music one can hear. Pop Music and other Musical Genres

Opera and other classical musical genres are often described as singing while feeling €yawny€ with your tongue in a high position. Unlike pop singing, which mainly uses a microphone in performances, opera singers have to sing without or little amplification in front of an audience. Vocal teachers who teach classic singing often categorize students depending on the type of their voice such as soprano, tenor, alto, bass, and more. Moreover, classic or opera singers have to learn to know how to sing songs on foreign language, mostly European, as many classic compositions are sung in these languages. Most of them took up singing lessons.

What You Need to Learn in Singing Pop Genre

You should not think of pop singers as those who only have nice faces and whose voices are edited in the studio. Any modern song can be classified as pop and it can also be grouped in different sub-genres like rock, hip-hop, RnB, and such. Pop singers like Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake are trained on how to do a total show performance. Aside from knowing how to sing, they should also learn how to utilize facial expressions and hand gestures to execute their songs effectively. At times, they may also be required to learn how to dance or play musical instruments as part of their performances.

But before learning all of these, any aspiring pop singer must have a stable background on singing. Singing lessons are important because this is where you will learn how to belt out songs properly. Unlike classical singing, which maintains balanced elements to perfect every note, pop genre allows singers to play around a song with different colors.
