The Best Christmas Crafts for Kids
- This pasta wreath can be used to decorate your front door. All you will need is different types of pasta such as elbow macaroni, fusilli, penne, conchiglie or any small-shaped pasta. You will also need spray paint, glue, a white paper plate, a hole puncher, yarn and a ribbon. Cut out the inside of the paper plate, leaving only the rim. Punch a hole on the top of the paper rim and tie a yarn through it. This will be used to hang your wreath. Glue the different pasta shapes closely together on the paper rim, covering it entirely. Wait a few hours for the glue to dry completely. Spray paint the whole wreath and let dry. A gold or silver-colored paint will be ideal for a festive look. Make a big bow with your ribbon and glue on top of the wreath.
- These cute magnets can be used to decorate your refrigerator. You will need felt paper of different colors, such as red and green, pencil, scissors, cardboard paper, glue, magnetic strips and Christmas cookie cutters. Make sure you have at least three cookie cutter shapes such as a Christmas tree, a candy cane and holly. With your pencil, trace each cookie cutter shape on a piece of cardboard paper. Cut out the shapes with scissors. Trace these shapes at the back of your felt papers and cut the shapes out. Cut as many as you'd like and glue same-shaped pieces together back-to-back. Attach a magnetic strip to each shape using glue and stick to your refrigerator.
- This cute Santa ornament can be hung on your Christmas tree. You will need a plastic ball ornament, skin-colored craft paint, paint brush, small wiggly eyes, cotton ball and glue. Using a paintbrush, paint the ball with the skin-colored craft paint. Let it dry. Glue the wiggly eyes in place. Tear off a piece of cotton and glue it at the top of the eyes, covering the entire top of the ball. This is Santa's hair. Tear another piece of cotton and glue below the eyes for Santa's beard. Pull down the cotton to make the beard look a bit longer. Let dry and hang on your Christmas tree.
- These Christmas placemats will be a great addition to your table during the Christmas dinner. You will need vinyl placemats in any color, assorted colors of Tulip Fabric paint, Christmas stencils and a pen. If you don't have Christmas stencils, you can easily print some for free from online sites such as Christmas-projects.com. Place the stencil over the placemat. Using a pen, trace the pattern from the stencil on the placemat. With stencil still in place, paint over the stencil to color the pattern. Let it dry overnight.
