Keeping your cholesterol level normal is very important to your good health.
High cholesterol can lead to heart attack or stroke.
It is very important to learn natural ways to lower cholesterol.
There are simple ways that this can be achieved, however you do not want to totally get rid of cholesterol as they play a vital role in building and formation of cell membranes.
Cholesterol also helps to balance hormones.
What you want to eliminate is the bad cholesterol known as LDL.
Too much LDL can lead to a buildup of plaque in your blood stream which will eventually lead to clogged arteries and eventually a heart attack or stroke.
If your doctor discovers that you have a high level of LDL you will immediately be put on statin drugs to lower your cholesterol.
The doctor will not teach you natural ways to lower your it.
Statin prescription drugs are good at lowering high cholesterol; however they also reduce your level of good cholesterol HDL.
Statin drugs also comes with some bad side effects.
They prevent certain enzyme that helps to synthesize cholesterol.
This enzyme act together with other enzymes in your body to provide energy to the cells in your body.
So it is important to know what you are taking and what they will do to your body.
When you look at the side effects of most statin medication they can be very alarming.
You wonder which will kill you first, the high cholesterol or the medication? That is why I believe looking at natural ways to lower cholesterol is a good way to try to control it to keep it at a normal level.
Here are some tips of natural ways to lower cholesterol: Exercise daily.
Exercise has been proven to help reduce cholesterol levels.
You want to exercise for at least 30 minutes daily five days per week.
Walking, swimming or cycling are good exercises you can do to obtain better health.
Omega 3 fatty acids: Increase your intake of this vital nutrient.
You can obtain omega 3 from eating fatty fish that contain DHA and EPA essential fats.
Fish such as tuna, mackerel, salmon and hoki are great sources.
Also you can take daily supplementation of fish oil that contains high concentration of DHA and EPA.
Try to cut down on the amount of trans fat you eat.
Trans fat raises cholesterol levels.
Avoid fast foods and processed foods that contain hydrogenated oils.
