Quickly Planning Children"s Parties

103 11
Yikes! It's only two weeks until your little girl turns five.
Not only are you on a tight budget, but you are stressed for planning time.
When thinking about last year's party, you can remember that after only an hour had passed, the food was already eaten, the games were played, and you had 12 children running around your backyard with nothing left to do! You think, "Gee, my sister never has a problem planning children's parties, why can't I do it?" Not to worry- when it comes to planning children's parties, planning does not have to be overwhelming or expensive.
When my son turned 8, we had a huge bash planned, complete with a magician and Star Wars theme.
Ten days before the party, my husband lost his job.
We were expecting 15 guests.
As panic began to enter my mind, I had to rethink and come up with Plan B.
The first thing we did was cancel the magician.
Difficult phone call to make- but had to be done, since we did not have £100.
Next item to change for our child's birthday was the theme.
While planning children's parties on a tight budget, Pound stores save the day.
We pulled it off and the kids had a great time.
Planning was strategic and prioritized.
First task the menu and the cake.
I purchased store-brand soda, then used coupons for cold cuts and cheese.
Sandwiches go over well for both children and adults.
I used a coupon and bought cake mix and icing and my mum baked and decorated the cake.
Next task for planning the party were the games.
Old School came in handy here, as we played Musical Chairs, Telephone, Coin Toss, Hot Potato, Water Balloon Toss and Egg Relay.
Instead of playing all the games at once, we staggered them in between other activities.
The Water Balloon toss is a great time-filler.
Not every game required a prize, either.
The kids enjoyed Telephone and the Water Balloon Toss- no prize necessary.
The prizes for the other games were large candy bars I purchased at a wholesale club.
While planning children's parties, don't forget the goody bag.
I picked-up confetti style bags at the Pound Store and filled them with inexpensive candy, bubbles and stickers.
For decorations I found £1 table cloths, matching plates, napkins and cups.
Everyone had a great time and there was plenty of food.
Planning children's parties doesn't have to be hard, and doesn't have to take a look of time.
When you follow these tips, it can be done quickly and cost effectively.
