    • 1). Fit the LCD screen of the iPod in the front half of the iPod housing. The front half is identified by the square LCD opening and the circular scroll wheel opening just underneath.

    • 2). Locate the rectangular frame and fit it in the front iPod housing. The main circuit board and scroll wheel are connected to the bottom of this frame. Fit the frame in the housing making sure the scroll wheel faces down.

    • 3). Replace six screws (three on each side) on the sides of the frame.

    • 4). Connect the screen cable at the bottom of the screen to the port at the top of the circuit board.

    • 5). Locate the blue hard drive and plug the hard drive cable at the bottom of the drive into the port on the bottom of the circuit board. Lay the hard drive over the circuit board.

    • 6). Fit the rectangular blue battery in the compartment in the back half of the iPod housing. Run the thin battery cable to the port on the left side of the circuit board and plug it in.

    • 7). Fit the back half of the iPod housing over the front half and press down firmly at the sides and corners until the locking tabs secure the two halves together. The iPod is now built.
