Affiliate marketing can be an excellent way to make money and the good thing about it is that it does not take large amounts of your time and gives good returns.
While it does take being a bit familiar with the Internet and Internet marketing, this is not as hard to learn as it initially sounds and the rewards can be well worth it.
There are different kinds of affiliate marketing but basically, it is internet based marketing where you sign up as an affiliate to another person's website and then help to drive market to that site.
In return, that site rewards you if someone that you have directed to them ends up doing business with them.
One practical example of this would be if you have a blog or an Internet site on a certain topic.
You would put in links to another related site on your page (for example, if your internet site is about dogs, then you can put up links to businesses that sell items such as dog kennels or collars).
Then when someone looking at your site clicks the ad or link to the other site, you will get a certain amount of money.
This is known as the 'pay per click' method.
Another popular method is the 'pay per sale' method, where you get a commission if someone who clicks the link on your site buys something off the other site.
As you can see from the above examples, it is not all that hard to set up a website on pretty much any topic that interests you, a hobby of yours or something that you may know a lot about, and then become an affiliate of retailers or businesses that sell related items.
In addition, the returns, while initially slow, do pick up and can make for a great source of supplemented income.
