Time Management Mastery - Take Your Time, Live the Moment
We spend a great deal of time thinking about either the past or the future, but how much time do we spend enjoying the now? Most people go through life semi-conscious, looking forward to the end of the workday, looking forward to the weekend, going through the motions, and generally not giving much thought to their present moment.
If you don't believe me, then tell me this: What colour clothes did you wear yesterday? What was the first thing that your spouse or loved one said to you in the morning? Chances are you had to think really hard to remember these details, if you remember them at all.
We live in a state of permanent distraction, of a rapidly shrinking attention span.
Our minds are constantly focused on either something that happened to us in the past, or something that we are looking forward to in the future.
A cheeky writer once wrote: Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that's why it's called the present! Considering the past and its lessons is good, and giving thought to a better future is even better, but most importantly remember to enjoy today and all the joys it has.
Spend time with your loved ones and enjoy their company.
No one ever said on their deathbed, 'I wish I spent more time making those millions', or 'I wish I spent more hours chasing that big promotion'.
And without a doubt, no one would ever say, 'I wish I had watched more television'.
What will you regret not doing enough of at the end? Your time tells the story of your priorities.
Take action today to realign your priorities and you will reap the full reward of each present moment of your life.
