New Flash Introduced
The first three seasons of Lost consisted of character flashbacks, season 4 introduced flash-forwards and season 6 brought us the flash-sideways. While I won't give away what it all means, what I can tell you about these strange (and often confusing) flash-sideways is that each scenario occurs as if Juliet managed to detonate the nuclear bomb, thus making the island non-existent -- and of course, the crash of Oceanic flight 815 would never happened.
How different were the lives of our favorite Losties? Very, very different.
What We Learned in Season 6 (Spoilers)
- Richard Alpert arrived on a ship called the Black Rock. He was a slave who was left to die when the smoke monster killed everyone aboard the ship. Why doesn't he age? You'll have to watch the episode 9 titled 'Ab Aeterno' to get the answer.
- How Jacob and the man in black aome to the island and why they have been there for so many years.
- The smoke monster inhabited Locke's body.
- Claire was indeed alive and a bit off the hook.
- Desmond is able to withstand excessive amounts of electromagnetic pulses.
- We finally got to see inside the temple.
- Why Christian Shepard and other dead people kept appearing, why we heard voices in the jungle and why certain dead people can't leave the island.
- We learned which characters were essential to the island's survival and at least one of them becomes responsible for protecting it.
- The producers don't exactly answer every single question.
- Most importantly, we learned that we didn't waste one single moment watching one of the best television series of all time!

Is 'Lost' Season 6 Worth Your Hard-Earned Cash?
I've made it no secret that Lost is one of the best shows ever made, so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that I emphatically urge every fan to add the last season to your collection. The quality of the Blu-ray set is absolutely phenomenal, but the bonus features is where the real treasure lies...
'The New Man in Charge': Lost may have ended, but the story lives on with some of the main characters (as well as one huge surprise appearance!). I can't help but think the series could spinoff with these characters. Many more questions are answered (polar bears). This was truly the most significant bonus feature I have ever seen on a DVD.
Additional answers can also be found in the features: 'See You in Another Life Brotha' and 'A Hero's Journey.'
As with every Lost DVD set, the bloopers and deleted scenes don't fail to entertain. The cast sure looked like they had a great time working together.
While not all lingering questions were answered (how did Jacob and Richard get off the island?), as a fan of the show I feel completely satisfied with how the series ended. This show will always hold a very special place in my heart and having all of the DVD's on my shelf helps preserve this memory for a lifetime.
