How to Insulate Between a Baseboard & a Carpet
- 1). Locate a corner where you can pull the carpet up. It is best to do one side at a time. This allows the carpet to stay anchored on the other three sides.
- 2). Spray a small amount of the spray foam as deep as possible to the gap between the floor and the molding. The spray nozzle that connects to the end of the foam container will allow a small bit to be put down.
- 3). Allow the foam to dry and cut even with the baseboard. Place the carpet back and and use the knee kicker to tighten it. This is done by placing the end of the knee kicker with the teeth toward the wall you have worked on and then driving your knee into the foam padding at the back. Move a few inches to the right or left after each knee kick.
