How to Install Peavey SSE 15 Speakers
- 1). Locate the desired point on a wall for installing the speaker mounting bracket, which must be bolted into the studs behind the wall, or directly into masonry or concrete. If you are uncertain about the wall construction or the ability of the wall to support more than 100 pounds of audio equipment at a height, consult a professional remodeler or building contractor.
- 2). Hold the VersaMount bracket against the wall where it will be mounted, then make a pencil mark on the wall through each of the eight holes in the bracket.
- 3). Drill a 3/8-inch diameter hole at each of the eight pencil marks to a depth of about 1 inch.
- 4). Align the holes on the bracket with the holes in the wall, then bolt the bracket in place using the supplied 3/8-inch screws and a screwdriver. If mounting on masonry, it may be necessary to substitute 3/-8-inch bolts instead of screws and use a wrench to secure the bolts into the wall.
- 5). Hold the back of the SSE 15 against the speaker mounting plate on the VersaMount bracket while a helper inserts 3/8-inch screws through the mounting plate into the six holes on the back of the SSE 15. Tighten each screw with the screwdriver by turning clockwise until the screw heads are flush with the mounting plate.
- 6). Insert the two phono plugs on one end of the stereo cables into the left and right audio input jacks on the back of the SSE 15. Match the white or black plug to the left jack. The red plug always connects to the right jack.
- 7). Connect the phono plugs on the other end to the output jacks on an amplifier, which can be connected to a stereo mixer or other sound-management device for hooking up audio components such as musical instruments or stereo equipment.
