Answer/Make a Phone Call

• 1). Press the green "Send" key to answer a phone call. When you're finished, press the red "End/Power" key.
  
  
• 2). Type the phone number into your keypad. Press the "Send" key to place the call.
  
  
• 3). Click "Address Book" from your welcome screen or home screen. Highlight the number that you want to call and press the "Send" key. If you have more than one number for a contact, the system will ask you which number you want to call. Use your trackball to click on the appropriate number.
  
  

Send SMS Text

• 1). Click "Messages" from the welcome or home screen.
  
  
• 2). Highlight the "Date" at the top of your message screen, and click down on the trackball.
  
  
• 3). Click "Compose SMS Text." Move the trackball to highlight the person from your address book to send the text to and click.
  
  
• 4). Type your message in the text box, and then click the trackball.
  
  
• 5). Click "Send." A blue check mark appears to the left of the message when it has been properly sent to the contact. If you see a red "X" next to the message, the message could not be sent.
  
  

Respond to a Text

• 1). Click "Messages" when you see a red asterisk in the corner of the messages icon. That red asterisk means you have a new message.
  
  
• 2). Click the bold, unread message to view it.
  
  
• 3). Click down on your trackball, and click "Reply."
  
  
• 4). Type your message in the text box, and click "Send."
  
  

Send an Email

• 1). Click on "Email Messages." Highlight the current date at the top of your email screen, and click down on your trackball.
  
  
• 2). Select "Compose Email," and type in the email address and subject line.
  
  
• 3). Type your message into the text box, and click down on your trackball and click "Send." If you want to respond to an email, open "Email Messages," then follow the steps two through four in section three.
  
  

Use the Browser

• 1). Click "Browser" from your welcome screen or home screen to connect to the Internet.
  
  
• 2). Press the "Menu" key to open your Internet options.
  
  
• 3). Select "Go To..." from the options screen.
  
  
• 4). Type the website address in the address bar, or type in a keyword search in the "Google" bar. Click down on your trackball.
  
  
• 5). Close out of the Internet by pressing and holding the "Escape" key.
  
  

Download Apps

• 1). Click "BlackBerry App World" from the home screen of your Curve.
  
  
• 2). Browse through the "Top Paid" or "Top Free" apps on your phone.
  
  
• 3). Click "Find" to search for apps yourself.
  
  
• 4). Click "Download" on the app screen of the app you'd like to download. Keep in mind that must pay for some apps.
  
  
• 5). Click on the app from your home screen once it has been completely downloaded.
  
  

Using the Calendar

• 1). Click "Calendar" from your home screen or welcome screen.
  
  
• 2). Scroll your trackball to the right and left to choose the day. Scroll the trackball up and down to select the time.
  
  
• 3). Click down on your trackball.
  
  
• 4). Type in a subject, location (if applicable), the time the event starts and an alarm (if needed).
  
  
• 5). Press the "Escape" key to exit.
