Curls

• Curls are almost a staple for a beauty pageant. Tendrils in an otherwise up-do frame the face and bring some more body to the style. Create tight curls in long hair for a romantic look or a loose style somewhere in between waves and curls to emulate styles of the summer and spring. Up, Down or In Between

• Whether the little girl has all her hair up, all her hair down or a little bit of both is entirely acceptable at pageants. You might leave it all down and free flowing, or add an accessory or two to jazz it up. Hair up and down styles are popular, as they allow for more creativity. Two pieces in the front can be left down and out of a bun, or a deep side part could create an extra curl on one side.
  
  

Accessories

• Dazzle up the little one's hair with accessories. A large flower works in all sorts of styles, just clip it in to one side and add some hairspray to ensure that it holds in place. Bring the hair all the way to the back and put one large flower on each side. Add a tiara to add jazz to a bun or to accessorize a half up and half down look. • Generally, hair styles for a beauty pageant are rather voluminous. This effect can be created by using large rollers, blow drying the hair upside down or using hairspray. Consult with a stylist to decide which method is the most appropriate for your child's hair. Another important component is to eliminate frizz so that the hair looks shiny and healthy. Special shampoos and conditioners are formulated to eliminate frizz, and you can find shine sprays at your local drugstore.
