Pregnancy Nausea Can Occur In The Third Trimester

101 15
Pregnancy nausea and vomiting in your third trimester? You mean that is actually possible? When can I let down my guard during pregnancy? I can hear your inner monologue now.

Yes, morning sickness can occur in your third trimester, but don't shoot the messenger. I just want you to be aware of anything and everything that's possible during the nine months leading up to the birth of your child. Knowing that it is a possibility in your third trimester will prevent you from panicking because you think something is wrong with you or your unborn child.

But, why me? Why now? Those are two really good questions that I can only partially answer. Why would this happen to you? I don't have a good answer for you on that one, but I may be able to shed some light on the "why now" question.

Your hormones are in a constant state of adjustment throughout your pregnancy, so it could just be a surge of hormones just before the birth of your child. There is also the size of your baby. Your baby is large enough where it can cause the uterus to put pressure on the stomach. Because there is less room for your stomach to expand during a meal, it can cause you to be nauseated and to vomit. The best way to combat this is to eat a lot of little meals throughout your day. The smaller amount of food in your stomach should alleviate some of that extra pressure your uterus is putting on it.

Besides eating smaller meals, is there anything else you can do to treat it? The answer to that is the same as if you were to start morning sickness at any time during your pregnancy - yes.

How do you feel about acupuncture? You know, placing small needles into your skin in various places on your body. It doesn't hurt as much as it sounds and the benefits can be quite fantastic. If needles freak you out, don't worry; these aren't the typical needles doctors use to give flu shots. They are a little bigger than straight pins, but they are also flexible and very thin. You can hardly see them sticking into your skin unless you really focus.

If you really don't think you can handle the needles, then you may want to try acupressure. It employs the same generally principles of acupuncture, but no needles. Deep pressure is applied to similar points on your body as those used in acupuncture. The great thing about this treatment is that you can perform some of that deep pressure on your own.

Herbs are another fantastic way of relieving your symptoms of pregnancy nausea in your third trimester. Ginger is probably the best and most well-known herb for this. There are a myriad of recipes available for you to make this a part of your daily diet while you try to overcome the effects of morning sickness.

Pregnancy nausea and vomiting in your third trimester is nothing to panic about. As long as the vomiting isn't to an extreme where you lose a lot of weight and show signs of dehydration, then you should be fine to try some of the tricks mentioned in this article. Like with anything that happens during your pregnancy, if you feel like something isn't right about how you are feeling, make an appointment with your doctor.
