How to Make a Guide for a Table Saw
- 1). Measure the length of the table saw with the tape measure. Find a square hollow iron bar that matches the measurement.
- 2). Measure the inside height and width of the iron bar. Cut two pieces of ¾-inch plywood that matches the measurement with the table saw.
- 3). Drill a 1-inch hole in the center of the square pieces of plywood with the power drill.
- 4). Drill screw holes on each end of the hollow iron bar with the power drill. You will need a screw hole on all four sides of the bar.
- 5). Insert the square plywood pieces into each end of the hollow iron bar. Drill a pilot hole for each screw using the existing holes. Secure the plywood pieces to the iron bar with screws using the power drill.
- 6). Connect the crank end of the pipe clamp to one end of the threaded pipe. Secure the pipe clamp with an adjustable wrench.
- 7). Insert the end of the threaded pipe into the hollow iron bar. Secure the butt end of the pipe clamp to the opposite end of the hollow iron pipe.
- 8). Set the newly assembled table saw fence on the table saw. The pipe clamp end should be at the front of the table.
- 9). Adjust the pipe clamp so that the jaws can attach to the table saw.
